Company Profile Marshall County REMC is an electric cooperative located in Plymouth, Indiana. Incorporated in 1935, Marshall County REMC has provided dependable electricity and quality service to its members for over sixty years. Primarily serving Marshall County, the REMC also serves portions of St. Joseph, Elkhart, Kosciusko, Fulton and Starke Counties. Marshall County REMC is proud to be a cooperative, owned by the residential, commercial and industrial customers its serves. An eleven member board of directors is elected by the member-owners who depend on the Board to provide leadership and entrust it with the responsibility of governing the corporation. Why is a Co-op different from an IOU? A cooperative is different from an Investor Owned Utility (IOU) because a co-op is owned by the people and businesses it serves. It is also distinguished by the 7 Cooperative Principles as follows:
Annual Meeting Members are invited to attend Marshall County's Annual Membership Meeting which is held annually on the first Tuesday of April. At this meeting an election for incoming Board members is held, reports are presented by the management, and the members are given an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns. Marco Flash The Marco Flash is a monthly newsletter comprised of useful information about electricity, electrical safety, consumer education, human interest stories, and new products or services provided by Marshall County REMC. Each member receives the Marco Flash included in with the monthly electric bill. Electric Consumer Magazine Electric Consumer is the official publication of Indiana's electric cooperatives. Every month more than 250,000 consumer-owners receive news and information about their cooperative utility. But the Electric Consumer offers much more than industry news. Features about Indiana landmarks and traditions; human interest stories about fellow Hoosiers; gardening tips and trends; hunting and fishing articles; new electric technologies; and of course, your favorite recipes.

Manager of Marshall County REMC. The Power of Human Connections As electric cooperatives, we are different from investor-owned utilities -- we are owned by our customers. Our connections with people form the basis for customer relationships. When you're a member of a Touchstone Energy® cooperative, your energy needs are provided by local people you know. They're responsive, accountable and professional. They're the same people who have given you dependable service for years. They're the ones who are your neighbors and work with you to make your community the best it can be. And they're the ones who'll be around in an emergency when you need them. We are the locally owned and locally controlled power company that is connected to our customers with personal service - the real power of human connections. We can provide for your energy needs with customized, local service -- yet since we're part of a nationwide alliance of suppliers, we have the technology and the strength to ensure dependable, low cost energy.
